Grassy Lake PTO

Blending Creativity and Community to Support Kids' School

Serving on the Grassy Lake PTO board as the Public Relations representative has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Since my daughter Charlee enrolled at the school four years ago, I’ve had the opportunity to combine creativity with community involvement, helping to promote and support the school’s mission. Now, with both of my children thriving at Grassy Lake, I’m proud to contribute to an environment where students are growing, learning, and having fun. This portfolio highlights a variety of projects I’ve led or contributed to during my time on the board.

"Jeff has an incredible eye for design—he took our vision and turned it into something better than we imagined. His work is clean, professional, and always delivered on time."

LOGO

Grassy Lake PTO Branding

Bringing Identity and Spirit to Life

After several years on the PTO board, we realized there was no official logo to represent our organization. During the 2024–25 school year, the president decided it was time to change that. Designing a logo was a fun challenge—especially since the school mascot is a “Star,” which required a bit of creativity. The final design was well-received and is now proudly featured on a variety of marketing materials, including apparel, balloons, pencils, and more. It’s been exciting to see the logo come to life and help unify our school community with a fresh visual identity.

PTO MOVIE NIGHT

PTO Movie Nights

Bringing Families Together Under the Stars

Each school year, the PTO hosts two Movie Nights—one in the fall and one in the spring. These events have featured popular films like Luca, The Grinch, and Super Mario Bros., creating memorable evenings for students and their families. I designed a versatile flyer template that can be easily updated for each event, with themed tweaks to match the movie and a custom banner for a cohesive look. Movie Night has become a favorite tradition that fosters connection and fun within the Grassy Lake community.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week

Honoring the Heart of the School

Each May, as the school year winds down, our community comes together to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week—a time for students and families to express gratitude for the dedication and hard work of our teachers and staff. As someone with teaching experience during college, I truly understand the energy, patience, and passion it takes to support every student’s growth while meeting academic standards. Through the PTO, we help organize and share creative ways for families to show appreciation—not only to teachers, but to the entire school staff who make Grassy Lake such a special place to learn and grow.

COVID-19 ERA School Events

Events During the Pandemic

Creative Connections in Challenging Times

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced schools to go online, our PTO adapted to ensure students and families could still feel connected. Even as in-person learning slowly returned with safety protocols in place, we reimagined traditional events to fit the times. From a drive-thru pumpkin parade to a virtual auction replacing the usual in-person gathering, we found creative ways to maintain school spirit and engagement. It was a unique chapter—one full of challenges, but also innovation and community resilience. We’re grateful to have come through it together.
